Nectarines

Nectarines

The scientific name of nectarines is Prunus persica var. nucipersica (Nectarina). They differ from peaches in that the fruit has no fuzz, and they originated from a bud mutation of the peach tree. They became known in Greece around 100 BC

Naoussa has also proven to be an ideal location for nectarine cultivation, as the area’s distinctive soil and climate conditions give the fruit an attractive color, rich aroma, and unique flavor.

Together with peaches, nectarines are among the cooperative’s main products. They are also packed in the orchard by our growers, avoiding additional handling, since they are naturally a delicate product.
