ASEPOP NAOUSSA

ASEPOP Naoussa’s facilities are modern and fully integrated. The cooperative owns a 31,060 sq.m. plot in the Kopanos area (near the railway line), 8 km from the city of Naoussa, where its facilities are located. The total building area amounts to 8,050 sq.m., of which 2,400 sq.m. are refrigerated chambers with a capacity of 13,500 m³ under controlled-atmosphere storage, 2,000 sq.m. are warehouse spaces, 1,560 sq.m. are dedicated to the sorting and grading area (a modern sorting and packing facility for apples, peaches, nectarines, and kiwifruit, with a capacity of 10–12 tons of fruit per hour and modern small-packaging equipment), and 2,090 sq.m. comprise other ancillary areas.

Cold Storage Facilities

ASEPOP Naoussa’s cold storage facilities were built in 1999 and form a modern controlled-atmosphere refrigeration complex with a capacity of 13,500 m³. They operate with high efficiency and are utilized at 100% for 12 months of the year.

Since October 2010, two new cold rooms have been in operation in a new, autonomous building for the storage and preservation of kiwifruit.

The cooperative also operates a branch at the Athens Central Wholesale Market (with storage space and refrigerated facilities).

It maintains two meteorological stations to support the work of its agronomy department. By collecting data at regular intervals (insect-trap measurements, weather monitoring and recording), the cooperative applies the appropriate cultivation practices and interventions at the right time.
