The scientific name of the nectarines is Prunus Persica Nectarina. It differs from peach on the fact that this fruit doesn't have bloom and that it was the outcome of an ocular (ophalmic) mutation of the peach. It became known in Greece in 100 B.C.
Naoussa has been proven to be the ideal place of nectarine cultivation as the climate and the soil contribute to the special color, rich aroma and to the distinctive taste.

Nectarines as well as peaches are the main products of the cooperation. They are also packed in the field by their producers, thus avoiding the damage of the fruit since it's very fragile and delicate.
